Radius Leaders’ support:
The Skilled Nurse Leader© Program

The Skilled Nurse Leader© Program offers a scalable approach to upskilling your nurse leaders so that you can be sure they are supported to lead the change you want to see.
Frontline nurse leaders learn a 4-part, evidence-based competency framework, which centers on the AONL competencies and the primary driver of outcomes: effective, evidence-based authentic leadership that builds trust, relationships, and engagement.
The program includes the following components:
- STEP Up to Lead©: Self-assessment, time management, emotional awareness, practical authenticity (January 22, 2026)
- WIN Your Rounds©: Our model to create rounding impact and efficiency, while evaluating “real time” outcomes from rounding (February 5, 2026)
- REACH Your Team©: Our model to enable effective immediate follow-up after nurse leader rounds that engages and empowers employees (versus alienating them) (March 19, 2026)
- SET the Bar©: Strategic communication and expectation setting, engagement best practices, and cultivation of team ownership and empowerment (April 23, 2026)
Program participants learn in the following manner:
- Live in-person, virtual, or hybrid delivery model
- Small groups to practice skills, work through challenges, and get feedback
- Workshops include:
-
- Identification of participant learning goals to make learning relevant
- Evidence-based content emphasizing AONL’s leader competencies
- Guided reflection, sharing, and problem-solving
- Skill demonstrations and practical application exercises
- Skills practice with peer and facilitator feedback
What else do your nurse leaders need?
LIVE PARTNERSHIPS, NOT MODULES.
Your frontline leaders need a partner, not a PowerPoint. And in the past, self-led modules and online courses have left them hanging, without a live person to share and test ideas. Nurse leaders want someone to talk to and a space to unpack what they go through. Our workshops are designed to be just that... all while offering structured interactivity and learning.
APPRECIATION FOR THE GIFTS THEY BRING, NOT LECTURES AND POWERPOINT
Nurse leaders want acknowledgement for where they excel and a safe learning space to work on areas for growth. In each workshop, we look for them to drive their learning through innovative exercises to help them think and act in new ways that are most pertinent to them, pushing past sticking points as we teach the skills that change outcomes.
OPPORTUNITIES TO TRULY GET TO KNOW THEIR PEERS, NOT JUST ICEBREAKERS
Coffee and breakfast are great, but a team truly comes together when they are given time to learn and “retreat” in a way that promotes true relationships and group cohesion. We will invite your leaders to step into more personal - and structured - conversations with their colleagues to cultivate ongoing partnerships between them. The outcome of that is a team that works together in new ways.
What else do you need as a senior nurse leader?
Your needs matter as much as the leaders on your team.
We work together to meet them and are your partner to ensure:
- Your program is aligned with your goals and organizational mission and values, meets your timeline, and is scalable
- Your investment is enduring, with support for skill sustainment via wraparound support such as 1:1 coaching, 360's, post-program virtual group coaching, and train the trainer learning
- An overall pace and structure that meets your leaders where they are with what they need most when they need it.
