The Voice of Nursing Leadership in Pennsylvania

PERONL is an organization for nursing leaders from within health care and health education, representing membership from Eastern Pennsylvania. PERONL is an affiliated local group of Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders (PONL) and the American Organization of Nurse Leaders (AONE).

We encourage the nurse leaders of Pennsylvania to maintain membership and participate in the activities organized within our region. PERONL serves to promote a strong and consistent link for nursing leadership throughout our region.

The purpose of PERONL is to advance the development of effective leadership in Nursing and to advise appropriate parties on matters relative to the delivery of nursing care, such as:

  • Provide a medium for the interchange of ideas and dissemination of information and materials relative to nursing leadership
  • Provide a platform within the health care field from which nurse leaders may speak on nursing and health care issues
  • Identify and define health care issues that affect nursing and establish position statements on these issues
  • Promote educational programs and activities to strengthen nurse leaders
  • Create an environment that supports and strengthen the cohesiveness of nurse leaders in the region
  • Share successful creative and innovative institutional programs

PERONL Meetings

The PERONL Board meets bi-monthly to discuss items such as membership, finances, legislative priorities, and hot topics related to health care. These meetings are open to all PERONL members.

Throughout the year, PERONL offers educational sessions with guest speakers presenting topics of interest to nursing leaders. These meetings usually occur in the morning at a local hospital in the PERONL region.
