The Chief Nursing Officer is a key member of the Executive Leadership team, a contributor to company strategy, and a key leader and policy decision maker for clinical practice. S/he provides oversight in the areas of nursing practice, application of technology, and clinical reimbursement and interfaces with other disciplines to insure the standardization of all clinical programs throughout the company. This position oversees the regional clinical structure through Vice Presidents of Clinical Operations and the 9,000 professionals based in the facilities. The CNO is also responsible for creating, modifying, providing feedback, and integrating principles and practices of quality improvement in all clinical programs of the company while ensuring that the Mission and Vision of the company are imbedded in the day-to-day activity of the clinical arena.

REQUIREMENTS: Genesis HealthCare seeks a strategic and relational executive nurse leader with superb clinical operational leadership skills within acute and long term care settings in multiple locations. An understanding of both long term and acute care; geriatric health care; state-of-the-art clinical practice, government and other reimbursement models and project management will be essential. Proven leadership ability combined with a data driven mind and strong financial and budget management skills; negotiation skills, problem solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead via influence across functional borders will also be critical for the success of this position. Candidates should additionally present with superb presentation and communication skills. A BSN and appropriate Master’s degree is required. Must be able to travel as needed.
